Now In London
March 15, 2006Hi! I’m here in London and trying to get used to the cold. Mishka has been very generous and has allowed me to be her guest (definitely beats staying in a hotel).
Tomorrow I meet with and rehearse with the trio I’ll be performing with for the competition on Saturday. I’m quite excited to meet and bond with artists and musicians from different parts of the world. I know I’ll learn from them and grow. There’s so much to embrace and experience.
I hope if you’re in London, that you’ll drop by and watch the competition. Looking forward to seeing you! Pray for me, ha.

Posted by Gerry Cabañero at March 23, 2006, 5:13 pmCongratulations on a truly outstanding performance at the London International Jazz event last night. My wife and I witnessed and thoroughly enjoyed your performance at the Cadogan Hall. The other contestants were exemplary musicians in their own right but your soulful renditions of jazz classics put you miles ahead any of them. Together with the other Pinoys who were thrilled by your success, we went home with our heads held up high, proud in the knowledge that yet again a Pinoy has proven that we are a truly special and gifted people.
